Yet even you admit that when you say "women," you're referring to thin, young women. Do you really think that what you said applies to people like my aunt, overweight and middle-aged? The *majority* of women fall into the "overweight" or "too old" category. Older women who are thin don't have success either. Read the part of my article about age again -- you can't deny that women certainly do not have an advantage when it comes to age. If anything, they have a disadvantage.
Also, receiving a ton of messages does not translate to actually having any success. What if those messages are from misogynists? Or from men who don't actually respect you or who don't view you as desirable? Or someone who merely wants to hook up and then discard you? Or from men who dehumanize you by classifying you as a "Becky" or a "Stacy"? Would you want to date a woman who classifies you as one of the "unattractive" men at the bottom of the hierarchy? If you would, then you shouldn't settle for that.
But I agree with you that dating sites are fucked. I just believe that they are for both men *and* women. They're not meeting men's nor women's needs. So I wish men and women could form some solidarity over that and rage against capitalism together. But now what I see is a lot of men misogynistically using women as a scapegoat for their problems, and viewing women as a monolith, instead of having the compassion to realize that life sucks for most women too.
Also, I wish that as a society we could all reject dating sites and transition back to meeting people in person. Then you can feel out who's interested in you without all the rejections. That's not remotely possible online, which makes dating more difficult for everyone.
