Timothy, I deleted your comments because they spread misinformation. You clearly didn't even click on the hyperlinks in my article to see that I supported my claims with evidence. Mortgage payments were in fact deferred in much of the country. Just because they weren't in your area (if that's even true), doesn't mean that applies to the entire country. Google it. I also linked to articles from The Hill and CNN as examples of pieces that sympathized more with landlords than tenants who are becoming homeless. Just because you personally haven't encountered articles like that, doesn't mean they don't exist... That's some strange solipsistic logic.

And if what you say about your job duties is true, you should not be personally offended by my article. It sounds like you're fulfilling the responsibilities of a maintenance worker and a property manager, not simply a landlord. If you don't outsource that labor, then that's great, but many landlords do.

As I said at the end of the article, the problem with landlords is not an individual one but an institutional one. It's kind of like with cops and CEOs. As individuals, they can be good people, but the system is fucked up. The housing system in this country is incredibly inhumane, and landlords are a part of that system. Housing is a human right. I'm not a con-artist, I'm an anti-capitalist who cares about human rights and about housing people who are living on the streets. The current system clearly isn't working and we need a radical overhaul, so yes, I'm going to criticize the landlord-tenant system
