If the genders were reversed, if I had written an article debunking the claim "Staring at men's abs makes women live longer," and someone had made a joke saying, "I've heard that staring at men's abs while your husband is there can actually shorten a woman's lifespan," then yes, I would find that funny too. Even though the joke would technically be about a man bashing a woman. That doesn't mean I would laugh at ANY joke about "men bashing women." It has to be funny and clever, and it shouldn't insinuate that the violence is a good thing.
