I don't care if Reagan was a Democrat for much of his life. I don't have allegiance to any party. I view Joe Biden as a blatant racist because of his explicitly racist statements and actions, even though he's done a few non-racist things here and there. Even if racism was more common when these figures lived, that doesn't make it any less egregious. Just because something is normal or common doesn't mean it's okay. I hope future generations evolve to the point where they criticize us for our prejudices and blindspots.

Also, your "lefty school girl rant" remark is kind of nasty and sexist. Why should the factual information I've presented be suppressed? I thought conservatives care about free speech. I don't subscribe to the "great man" theory of history, so I don't idolize any "heroes" on the left or right. I admire some figures more than others, but I don't think it's healthy how our culture puts certain historical figures on a pedestal like they're some sort of god who's superior to "ordinary" people. It's like what Americans do with celebrities, it's disgusting.
